Cody was hospitalized due to 2 episodes of not being able to breathe. He has had an ear infection and that seemed to be getting better, but then he caught a cold. Poor little thing coughs so hard and so much. Anyway, Monday night he had a coughing fit and couldn't catch his breath. His eyes were huge & watery, his skin color bright red and his lips blue. After about 30 seconds he started breathing again. I thought I was going to pass out. Then a couple of minutes later it happened again, but this time it only lasted about 3-4 seconds. However, 3-4 seconds & most definitely 30 seconds seems like years when your baby is not breathing. So, I took him to our children's er. His oxygen saturation levels were in the low 80's. He was admitted and received 2 breathing treatments and then was just monitored to be sure that he didn't stop breathing again. He was released Wednesday. I am a complete worry wart about him anyway. He is fine now. I took him to his pediatrician yesterday and she gave us a nebulizer and a prescription for albuterol. He seems to be doing a lot better now.

ReplyDeleteElijah has a nebulizer and albuterol that we use too. They are waiting to make the diagnosis of asthma until after he has his adenoids out.
